Zzeja aspires to create a warm and enveloping atmosphere, returning to the roots of the jazz movement, emphasizing diversity, proximity between musicians and audience, as well as improvisation and creativity. In this space, artists perform without a stage, surrounded by Persian rugs, soft lighting, lush plants, and modern welcoming furniture. A microphone is placed on stage to encourage exchanges between each piece, making room for the audience's enthusiastic exclamations after a solo. The clinking of glasses and the knowing whispers of spectators can be heard, contributing to a lively and intimate atmosphere.
Zzeja aims to be both elegant and refined, while remaining inclusive, diverse and unifying. Its modern jazz is deeply influenced by hip-hop, funk and electronic sounds, drawing inspiration from the UK Jazz movement, Nu Jazz, fusion and soul. It is music rooted in the richness of ethnic diversity and cultural mixing, drawing its inspirations from France, Eastern Europe, England, the United States, Japan as well as from African and South American scenes.
